Daile's Graduation

Here are the really, really proud parents, Sue & Raymond, who gladly attended their last child's high school graduation in June! Wide smiles were noted throughout the ceremony. How could they not be proud of their good student and devoted daughter. Way to go, you guys! You did an awesome parenting job with her! You deserve to be proud.
Believe it or not, Daile is really easy to see as she receives her diploma...honest!
Proud Auntie Denise congratulating Daile, a truly successful AP student and newly graduated high school student!
There's nothing better than being the BIG Woman On Campus! Note the heights of the youngest in the middle and the older sisters to her sides. Some pretty, happy, young women! I haven't lived close enough to attend all of the niece's and nephew's graduations, so this one was special.

Spring El Dorado Walking Experience

This is a typical squirrel found in great numbers at the El Dorado Park and especially in the Nature Center. He/she reminded me of "Squirrel Boy", my buddy in the backyard of our Kent house. Squirrel Boy loved pretzels smeared with peanut butter and dipped in birdseed. He was the biggest squirrel in our backyard forest. Gosh, I can't imagine why?!! He had the fluffiest tail ever!
These delicate pink flowers begged to have their photo taken. I couldn't resist.
I met Renee on an Alaska flight up to Seattle in December. Who knew the person in the seat next to me was going to be my weekly walking buddy?!! Let me introduce Renee, the park walking hottie!
Drought tolerant plants and trees line the paths along the El Dorado Park Nature Center like this one, which is going to seed. There were still many flowers on it, but lots of interesting pods as well.

Very Windy Beach Day

A windsurfer sneaked up on Isis and Bonnie as they play in the waves breaking on the beach. Poor little Isis was nearly knocked down several times. Those waves don't care if you're only 2-1/2!

She looks like a little Bonnie in this photo! It was so windy that Grandma Eda asked to go home 10 minutes after we arrived. So we did.
Kites and windsurfers galore. And, I love my older daughter, a whole lot too!
I took this happy photo while we were standing watching the windsurfers. Bonnie and Mushroom are such good buddies.
Hold on to your hat! Mushroom is standing along the shoreline with numerous kites flying overhead. It was a very pretty day. Windy, but pretty!

Wedding Celebration

Mushroom was invited to be the celebrant for Evan and Lane in her parents' backyard on July 24th. It was an intimate and beautiful affair. The bride's parents did a great job of hosting it, and Evan's family was a delight to meet for the first time. They are a wonderful couple and show a lot of promise for future success!

Great Grandma Eda Bea

Great Grandma Eda loves to sit out in the front yard, visiting with family, friends and neighbors. She looks cool as a cucumber, doesn't she?!!

Mom has been home for a couple of months since her bout with pneumonia this spring. Not bad for 85! It was time for a new "do", so she went to the JC Penney salon to see her gal, Teresa. Teresa is a sweetie, and takes exceptionally good care of her. Mom looked and felt so much better after getting her hair cut and styled again. (Although she would've preferred a perm as well, but tires too quickly to sit for the hours it takes for a perm.)

Pancake Breakfast w/Cal and Koon

We enjoyed a wonderful pancake/waffle/hash/Irish griddle cake breakfast with Cal and Koon in San Diego earlier in the month. Nobody left hungry. Here are Cal, Koon and Mushroom standing next to their car. Nice...!

Edan, "John Travolta", Yoon at his preschool. Doesn't he look like Danny Zucko? So serious! Extended family was invited to watch the "Grease" performance by all of the wee preschoolers, and to stay for refreshments afterward.

Isis and her friends are celebrating at preschool out on the playground. Fun! The kids were too cute too.

Edan loves feeding his Grandpa Mushroom! Treats were served at the preschool's celebration of the 50's. Notice Edan's cool t-shirt...wow, man!
